Wesak Day - Palme Gon Buddhist Society

The Palme Gon Buddhist Society situated in Taman Sentral, Butterworth had recently organized its wide-ranged Dharma programme in conjunction of the Wesak Day celebration. The program includes, liberation activities, Dharma talk, chanting of mantras, lighting of auspicious lamps. The Dharma programme commenced from 13 May until 17 May 2014. Invited members of the Sangha who graced the five-day event are His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang (Head of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage), Thritsab Rinpoche, Nubpa Rinpoche, Rabsang Rinpoche and Venerable Hai Tao. Wesak Day - Karma Norbuling Buddhist Centre

Karma Norbuling Buddhist Centre (KNBC) will be holding its Wesak Day celebration at its premises situated in No. 15 & 17 Lorong Rozhan 3, Kawasan Perniagaan Jalan Rozhan, Alma, 14000 Bukit Mertajam. The programme for the KNBC event are as follows: 13th May 2014 10.00am - Liberation, Lamp Lighting & 16 Arahant Puja 6.00pm - Devotees are welcomed to join the KNBC Float Procession 1. Wesak Day - Nandaka Vihara

Nandaka Vihara will be holding its Wesak Day celebration in its vihara premises situated at Lot 1250, Mukim 17, Jalan Kolam, Cherok Tokun, 14000 Bukit Mertajam, Seberang Perai Tengah. The programme of the Nandaka's Wesak Day are as follows: 7.30am - Transfer of the Buddha's Relic from Sima Hall to Dana Hall 8.15am - Dhamma Talk 9.00am - Pindapatta (Alms Round, Rice Only) 9.30am - Food Stall Commence 11.30am - Lunch Dana to the sangha 7.30pm - Bodhi Puja All are welcomed. Wesak Day 2013

Karma Norbuling Buddhist Centre (KNBC) which is situated in Alma, Bukit Mertajam has held its Wesak celebration from 23rd May to 24th May 2013 commencing with the Buddha Bathing and Circumambulation ceremony on the Wesak Eve Night and followed by Liberation of Live, Lamp Lighting and the 16 Arahant Puja. Members and devotees of KNBC later joined in the Wesak float procession at about 6.00 pm in the Bukit Mertajam town centre. Meanwhile at Cherok To'kun, also in Bukit Mertajam, Nandaka Vihara Meditation Society also held its Wesak celebration with numerous activities, which includes, Dharma Talk, Dana, Sanghikadana and Chanting of Suttas. The celebration also includes other merit making activities, like Offering of Robes and Sangha Requisites by the devotees.

Wesak Day at Jeng Jyue Lin Temple

I spent my Wesak Day today at Jeng Jyue Lin Temple situated in Taman Bayu, Mak Mandin, Butterworth today. As usual, devotees visited the temple to pay their respect to the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha as well as making offerings i.e. candle light, incense, flowers, fruits and to chant the Buddha's Suttas with the Sangha. The bath the Buddha ceremony was also held, followed by liberation of birds.

Wesak Celebrations Around

Mahindarama Buddhist Temple is holding a lamp lighting ceremony of 2556 Wesak Candles at 8.00 pm on this Friday 4th May 2012 at the temple's premises in Jalan Kampar, Penang. Aside, there will also be a food offering to the Buddha and Sanghas at 11.00 am on Saturday (Wesak Day) 5th May 2012. The annual Maha Samaya Sutta chanting and blessing ceremony will be held at 7.30 pm on Sunday 6th May 2012. For further details on the auspicious day, you can call 04-2825944 (temple office). Visit to Chempaka Buddhist Lodge

During my trip down to Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, I paid a visit to Chempaka Buddhist Lodge which is situated at Jalan SS23/25, Taman SEA, 47400 Petaling Jaya. Chempaka Buddhist Lodge (CBL) was established in 1985 and CBL had since grown into one of the major Buddhist organizations in Selangor and throughout Malaysia. During my visit there, CBL members and volunteers are in the midst of preparing for the upcoming Wesak Day celebration which is scheduled to be held on this Saturday, 5th May 2012. On this auspicious day, I would urge all Buddhists devotees and friends to come forward on that day to develop as much merits as possible such as animal liberations, lighting of oil lamps and candle lights, chanting of sutras and mantras, offering of robes, food and drinks to the members of the Sangha, offering of flowers and incense to the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. May all be Well and Happy.

His Eminence Senge Tenzin Rinpoche will be in Palme Gon Buddhist Society, Butterworth from 21 April to 5 May 2012 in conjunction with the Wesak Day celebration. About H.E. Senge Tenzin Rinpoche  His Eminence Senge Tenzin, the guider of Limi Youth Society was born to Mr. Migmar and Mrs. Bhute on 29th January, 1981 in Purang, Ngari (western region of Tibet). He has done his primary schooling in Purang Primary School from the age of 6. In 1990, he was ordained by the great Drikung Kagyu yogi, Konchok Norbu, at Gongphur monastery. His ordination name was Konchok Chisang. He joined Jangchub Ling Monastery, the central institute of Drikung Kagyu Order in 1993. In this institute, he mainly studied Buddhist Philosophy, Tibetan and English language and memorized recitation texts. He received teachings from the living masters of Drikung Kagyu Order in Buddhist scripts, tantric practices, initiations and empowerments. H.E. Wesak Day

Wesak Day is the most important event of the year for the Buddhist community. It commemorates the Birth, Enlightenment and Final Nirvana of the Buddha on the full moon day of the fourth lunar month. This occasion is observed by millions of Buddhist throughout the world. It is a festival for rejoice and goodwill to all. It is also an occasion for reflection of our own personal spiritual development. For some Buddhist, the observance of Wesak begins early in the morning when they assemble at temples to observe the Eight Precepts. Others may join the communal observances by going through the ceremony of taking the Threefold Refuge, observing the Five Precepts, making offerings at shrines and chanting. They may also participate in processions and circumambulation and listen to sermons of the Buddha's Teachings.
