Heong Sun See Temple Vegetarian Food Fair and Medicine Buddha's Lotus Lamp Lighting

Heong Sun See is organising a Vegetarian Food Fair in conjunction with the Nine Emperor Gods (Kiew Ong Ya) Birthday. The food fair organised in the aid of the temple's building fund is commencing today 14 October 2012 (29th of the 8th Lunar Month) to 23 October 2012 (9th day of the 9th Lunar Month) from 7.30 am to 8.30 pm daily at the temple's premises. Coupons and tickers for the food fair could be obtain from the temple on any day beginning today. Contribution in cash or in any kind will be greatly appreciated. Voluntary helpers are also invited to assist on the food fair which begin from today until 23 October 2012. The Medicine Buddha's Lotus Lamp Lighting for good fortune and elimination of obstacles will be incorporated in the Medicine Buddha Repentance Puja which is to be held on 21 October 2012 (7th day of the 9th Lunar Month) from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm. Grand Sad-Dharma Pundarika and Water Repentance Puja

In conjunction with Yu Lan Pheng Festival, Heong San See Temple shall be performing a series of Puja with the aim of promoting Filial Piety, pray for the World Peace, as well as to transfer merits to the deceased, thus release them from the sufferings and be reborn in a higher realm. The Grand Sad-Dharma Pundarika Puja will be held from the 25th day of the Sixth Lunar Month to the 2nd day of the Seventh Month, corresponding to from the 12th August to 18 August 2012, from 8.00 pm to 9.30 pm. The Compassionate Water Repentance Puja and Mong Sun will be held on the 3rd day of the Seventh Month, corresponding to 19th August 2012, from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm. Lamp lighting and prayer to release the deceased from sufferings and be reborn in a better realm would also be incorporated into these Pujas. The Medicine Buddha Heong Sun See Temple, Penang will be organizing a Vegetarian Food Fair in conjunction with the Nine Emperor Gods' Birthday. The food fair organized in aid of the temple's building fund shall commence from 30th day of the 8th Lunar Month (7/10/2010) to the 9th day of the 9th Lunar Month (16/10/2010) from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm at the temple premises. Vegetarian food available are: economy rice, noodles (both fried and soup), western food i.e. vegetarian burgers, hot-dogs and chicken chops. Local specialties such as nasi lemak, chicken rice, nyonya kuih, deserts, beverages, etc. The lighting of Medicines Buddha's Lotus Lamp for good fortune and elimination of obstacles will be incorporated in the Medicine Buddha Repentance Puja on the 3rd and 8th days of the 9th Lunar Month (10/10/2010 & 15 /10/2010) from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm. In conjuction with the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year next month, Heong Sun See Temple, Penang will be organising a Lamp Lighting event to pray for World Peace, Good Fortune and Elimination of Hindrances and Obstacles. A "Three Thousand Buddha Repentant Puja" will be conducted from 16 February to 18 February 2010 (from the 3rd day to 5th day of the first month of the Chinese Lunar Calender). All devotees, their families and friends are cordially invited to participate in the above meritorious activities. The funds collected from the above activities will be utilised for the educational fund of the temple. In conjunction with the Yu Lan Pheng festival, the Heong Sun See Temple in Penang will be organising a series of Pujas with the aim of promoting Filial Piety, Praying for World Peace as well as Transferring of Merits to the Departed, thus releasing them from sufferings and be reborn in a higher realm. The Grand Sad Dharma Pundarika Puja will be performed on 16 August 2009 from 8.00pm to 9.30pm. The recititation of the Sad Dharma Pundarika Puja for seven nights will be led by reverend monks of Heong Sun See Temple. This Puja, also known as the Lotus of the True Law Sutra contains teaching of the Buddha for different levels of sentient beings to attain enlightenment with the spirit of Boddhisattva's vow of willing to preach the limitless sentient beings. Wesak Day celebration at Heong Sun See in Penang

In conjuction with Wesak Day celebration, Heong Sun See Temple of Tanjong Tokong Lama in Penang will be conducting The Grand Diamond Sutra Repentence Puja on Sunday 3 May 2009. The prayer will commence at 8.00 am and Offering Prayer will be held at 11.00 am, followed by Bathing The Buddha ceremony. Lighting of Auspicious Lamp for good fortune and elimination of obstacles will be incorporated in the abovesaid puja ceremony. The Three-Step-One-Bow Retreat will be held on 1 May 2009 at 6.00 am in Mengkuang Dam, Bukit Mertajam. Those who are interested to participate can register with the temple then.
