Choeze Kuchen Rinpoche's Dharma discourse

On last Friday, 15 June 2012, the 11th Choeze Kuchen Rinpoche had conducted a Dharma discourse at the Palme Gon Buddhist Society in Taman Sentral, Bagan Lallang, Butterworth, Penang. Among his discourse were chanting of the Consise Sadhana of Chenrezig : Refuge and Bodhicitta, The Four Immeasurable, Mandala Offering, Turning of the Dharma Wheel, Dedication Prayer for the Mani Mantra The 100 Syllable Purification Mantra of Vajrasattva After the above, the Rinpoche also guided the devotees on a short discourse of meditation. The session adjourned at about 10.00 pm on that evening and is expected to resume from 18-19 June 2012 on the following week.

His Eminence the 11th Choeze Kuchen Rinpoche of Namkha Thinksang Retreat Centre in Pharping, Kathmandu, Nepal will be at the Palme Gon Buddhist Society, Taman Sentral, Bagan Lallang, Butterworth in Penang from 15 June to 19 June 2012 to give a Dharma discourse for the Buddhist community here. The Dharma discourse shall include Dharma Talk, Liberation, Fire Puja and Chanting of Mantras for the benefits of the people and the other living being around us.

Noble Eightfold Path

Let us look at the more detail eight factors of the Noble Eightfold Path. The first factor is right view. What is right view? Right view consist of four kinds of knowledge: The insight knowledge of the Noble Truth of suffering which is the fire aggregates of clinging. The insight knowledge of the Noble Truth of the Origin of Suffering which discerns the causes for the five aggregates of clinging of which in other words it is the insight knowledge of dependent origination. The realization and knowledge of the Cessation of Suffering which is cessation of the five aggregates of clinging, Nibbana. The knowledge of the Noble Truth of the Path Leading to the Cessation of Suffering which is the way of practice to the realization of Nibbana, the Noble Eightfold Path. The second factor of the Noble Eightfold Path is right thought. What is Meditation?

So what is meditation? Meditation consist of Samatha and Vipassana meditations, which both be based upon moral conduct of body and speech. In other words, meditation in the development and perfection of the Noble Eightfold Path. The Noble Eightfold Path are: Right View Right Thought Right Speech Right Action Right Livelihood Right Effort Right Mindfulness Right Concentration Right view, The Buddha called Vipassana right view and path right view. Right view and right thought are together called the training of wisdom. Right speech, right action and right livelihood are together called the training of morality. Right effort, right mindfulness and right concentration which is Samatha meditation.
