National Maha Sanghika Dana 2010

The Malaysian Buddhist Youth Foundation (YBBM) is organizing another big scale Maha Sanghika Dana on 18 July 2010 (Sunday) at Penang Times Square in Jalan Dato Keramat, Penang.

In Buddhism, Maha Sanghika Dana is an act of providing alms-food to a group of homeless ordained people who had renounced the world (also known as the Sangha) in order to strive for peace and enlightenment through Buddha's teachings and guidance.

The Maha Sanghika Dana is also considered to be a very meritorious action and therefore according to the scriptures will accrue good results such as long life, beauty, happiness, strength and wisdom.

In addition, this meritorious event also reinforces the link and support between the Sangha and the lay people which is vital to the proper growth and development of Buddhism in this country.

Therefore, all of you are encouraged to join this very special meritorious occasion.

Programme Highlights:

Maha Sanghika Dana Eve, Saturday 17 July 2010 ~ 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm : Dharma Talk by Ven.Hui Hai, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysian Humanistic Foundation.
