Theg Chhog Rinpoche in Butterworth, Penang


The Most Venerable Theg Choog Rinpoche from Qinghai, China will be in Palme Gon Buddhist Society at Bagan Lallang, Butterworth this Saturday and Sunday from 8 May to 9 May to conduct the animal liberation and Sur Smoke Offering, Lamp Offering and Kulu Kule Fire Puja.

Theg Choog Rinpoche was ordained and started his practice in Buddhism at the age of 8 by H.E. Sangjie Tenzhen Rinpoche of the Karma Kagyu Lineage. Theg Choog Rinpoche was recognized as a bhiksu by H.E. Tai Situ Rinpoche at the age of 18 upon completing many retreats.

Theg Choog Rinpoche was also recognized as an incarnation of Theg Chhog Rinpoche of Bei Ma Zong Ma Si by H.H. Penor Rinpoche and H.E. Horsal Dorjie Rinpoche where he was given his spiritual robes and three "tangka" of longevity by Tai Situ Rinpoche as a blessing for his longevity in this world so that he could widely spread the Buddha's teachings.

9 May 2010 @ 1.00 pm - Lamp Offering and Kulu Kule Fire Puja
