Young Buddhist Association Malaysia cordially invites you to participate in the Contemporary Buddhism Seminar Series on the theme of “Understanding the New Political Scenario in Malaysia: Adaptation and Engagement for the Buddhist Community”.

Speakers:-
Venerable Dhammavuddho Maha Thera is abbot of Vihara Buddha Gotama, a 15-acre forest monastery in Temoh, Perak. He received his ordination in the Mahayana tradition in 1983 and his Theravada ordination in 1996. He was an electrical engineer for 12 years before becoming a monk.
Datuk Dr Victor Wee Eng Lye is the President of the Buddhist Gem Fellowship. He retired recently as Secretary General of the Tourism Ministry and is now an Advisor to the Finance Ministry. Victor received his M.A. from Brown University, USA, and Ph.D. from Bristol University, UK.
Y.A.B Lim Guan Eng is the Chief Minister of the State of Pulau Pinang and Secretary General of the Democratic Action Party (DAP). He was first elected as Member of Parliament for Kota Melaka in 1986. YAB Lim graduated from Monash University, Australia, and is a qualified accountant.
Y.B. Datuk Ong Tee Keat is the President of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) and Minister of Transport in the Federal Cabinet. He was a mechanical engineer before joining politics in 1986 to become the Political Secretary to the then Housing and Local Government Minister.
